Day 1: Tours - Amboise

28km

Tours is the starting point for this three-day cycling trip in the Loire Valley. At the market halls, you can buy local products for your picnic: rillons, rillettes, Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine, winegrower tart...
Once you've picked up your bikes, let yourself be guided between the cycle paths along the Loire and the quiet roads through the vineyards of Montlouis. With long sections along the Loire, admire the breathtaking beauty of the last wild river in Europe.
On arriving in Amboise, discover the royal castle, the grave of Leonardo da Vinci and enjoy a unique panoramic view on the Loire Valley from the gardens. A little further on, discover the manorhouse of Clos Lucé, the last home of Leonardo da Vinci, and a collection of 40 models representing its inventions.
At the foot of the Château d'Amboise, the evenings are pleasant, the medieval streets and the banks of the Loire are ideal for strolling and tasting local specialties.

Optional : Château d’Amboise and Clos Lucé (included in the Chateaux Package)

Self-guided visits of the Royal Château d'Amboise and the Manoir du Clos Lucé

Day 2: Amboise - Chenonceaux

24km

This new stage leads you to Chenonceaux. Follow a beautiful bike path through the Amboise forest, perfect during warm summer days.
The route continues along the banks of the Cher to the Château de Chenonceau and its gallery bridge spanning the river. On arriving there by bike, enjoy one of the most beautiful views of this unique site. French Renaissance masterpiece, the castle nicknamed the “Ladies Castle” was marked by the rivalry between Diane de Poitiers, the royal Favourite, and Queen Catherine de Medicis, who both lived there.

Optional: Château de Chenonceau (included in the Chateaux Package)

Self-guided visit of the castle and its gardens.

Day 3: Chenonceaux – Tours
